Now that we are well into Daylight Savings Time, many homeowners are enjoying the warmer weather outdoors in their lawn. Quite a few of these couples enjoy the exercise and sense of accomplishment of beautifying their own lawn, here are a few landscaping tips you can employ into your next weekend landscaping adventure.
- Edging – The areas where your grass meets mulch can be enhanced by cutting fresh edges between the two. Try curving the edge and adding some character to the boundary, this simple addition will add flare to your flower beds as well.
- Flowering Plants – Replace your old plants that do not flower with eye-catching foliage like Black-Eyed Susan’s or a flowering crabapple, a few minor upgrades can make a major impact on the overall appeal of your lawn.
- Outside the Box – Look at your neighbor’s lawn, most of them probably have all the plants around the property lines and foundation of their home, breakout of the traditional style by adding style to your lawn with various flowerbeds and/or small gardens. A few well-placed stones can add immense beauty to your small garden.
- Back it up – Everyone focuses on the front of their home, when in all actuality, the rear typically offers more privacy. Consider a privacy fence and upgrading to an outdoor kitchen. An outdoor kitchen upfit can be purchased at most big box home improvement stores. Your back yard can become the most popular portion of your lawn.
